portainerInstalling it
Open the dashboard, go to Apps, press Add on it and apply the change. Or from a terminal on the box:
sudo homebox install portainer
Where to open it
| Service | Port | First login |
|---|---|---|
| Portainer | :9000 | Portainer's admin account, seeded from .env at first start. |
Open it at your box's address with that port — the dashboard links to it directly once it is running.
Good to know
- It holds a read-write Docker socket, which is the same as root on this box — keep it on the LAN and never put it behind a public hostname
- The admin account is created at first start from a generated password:
homebox secrets portainerprints it - You do not need this for logs, restarts or updates — the Podhouse dashboard does all three
