Jellyfin
The Free Software Media System - Server Backend & API
Jellyfin is a Free Software Media System that puts you in control of managing and streaming your media. It is an alternative to the proprietary Emby and Plex, to provide media from a dedicated server to end-user devices via multiple apps. Jellyfin is descended from Emby's 3.5.2 release and ported to the .NET platform to enable full cross-platform support.

jellyfinInstalling it
Open the dashboard, go to Apps, press Add on it and apply the change. Or from a terminal on the box:
sudo homebox install jellyfin
Where to open it
| Service | Port | First login |
|---|---|---|
| Jellyfin | :8096 | Podhouse creates the admin account for you: sign in with the Jellyfin admin username and password from Settings > Passwords. |
Open it at your box's address with that port — the dashboard links to it directly once it is running.
Good to know
- Podhouse sets Jellyfin up for you: an admin account (Settings > Passwords shows it) and Movies and TV libraries on the same folders Sonarr and Radarr use.
- Without a GPU every transcode is CPU work. Direct-play formats your TV understands and this box stays quiet
- If this box has an Intel iGPU, uncomment the /dev/dri device below and enable VAAPI in Playback settings
