BookStack
Documentation you will actually find again
A platform for storing and organising information and documentation. BookStack is an opinionated documentation platform that provides a pleasant and simple out-of-the-box experience. New users to an instance should find the experience intuitive and only basic word-processing skills should be required to get involved in creating content on BookStack. The platform should provide advanced power features to those that desire it, but they should not interfere with the core simple user experience.
bookstackInstalling it
Open the dashboard, go to Apps, press Add on it and apply the change. Or from a terminal on the box:
sudo homebox install bookstack
Where to open it
| Service | Port | First login |
|---|---|---|
| BookStack | :6875 | Fixed default of admin@admin.com / password. Change it immediately. |
Open it at your box's address with that port — the dashboard links to it directly once it is running.
Good to know
- Ships with admin@admin.com / password. Change both on the first visit — it is a fixed default, not something generated for you
- APP_URL has to match the address you actually use, or the login form posts to the wrong host and silently fails
- Write the recovery notes for THIS box somewhere else too. Documentation that only exists on the machine it describes is no help the day that machine is down
